Our puppies are offered with limited AKC registration papers which means that you will not be able to register your puppy’s offspring with the AKC. It basically means “no breeding rights”. Puppies sold to breeders are sold with full AKC registration papers for more money while puppies sold to pet families are sold with limited AKC registration papers at lower prices.
Our pet families have the option to “upgrade” their puppy’s papers by paying the difference (usually $500 – $3000, depending on the dog’s DNA) but this option is rarely exercised. Breeding is costly and time-consuming and can be very physically taxing on the mother dog. Because of this, we discourage people from breeding their pets. We even have a family rule that if the dog sleeps in someone’s bed, it doesn’t get bred.
