We would love to introduce you to your future English bulldog puppy. Here are the most common questions we are asked about getting an English bulldog puppy. Please review them and contact us when you are ready to move forward.
Do you have any English bulldog puppies for sale?
Our next available English bulldog puppies will be ready to go home in early 2018, with additional litters planned throughout the first half of the year. It’s too soon to comment on availability, but getting on the waiting list will give you the best chance possible at the available bulldog puppies. (Typically, 70% of our available English bulldog puppies go to families on the waiting list, with the remaining puppies being available for adoption after the wait list families have had first pick.)
Whether or not we will have a puppy for you this fall depends on litter size, your specific gender and color preferences, and if those ahead of you on the list pass on the available puppies due to their own preferences.
How can I get my English bulldog puppy?
You are always welcome to meet and choose your English bulldog puppy in person in Los Angeles. If you are not local and feel comfortable choosing based on photos and videos, shipment or delivery of your puppy can be arrange. We deliver bulldog puppies to Central and Northern California regularly.
How much do English bulldog puppies cost?
Our English bulldog puppies typically range from $2600 – $3500, with limited AKC papers. Price is based primarily on color and physique. Rare-colored English bulldogs – black tri-color, blue, blue-brindle, chocolate, etc. – are priced higher.
When will you know if there’s a puppy available for me?
As outlined in our deposit / waiting list process, prospective families begin meeting and reserving their puppy when the puppies are seven weeks old. We try to give as much advance notice as possible, but it’s often only a few weeks, as we wait until the puppies are several weeks old, thriving, and have been vet checked, before introducing them to prospective families. Be patient and flexible and we’ll introduce you to your English bulldog puppy as soon as possible. We cannot predict more than a few weeks in advance if we will have an English bulldog puppy available for you.
If I place a deposit right now, when will I get my puppy?
That depends on many questions I don’t have answers to. Some litters have two puppies while others have ten. There are also families ahead of you on the waiting list. Those waiting for specific gender, color, or timing preferences may pass on my next available litter, which could mean you get a puppy soon. We know it’s frustrating, but we really don’t know when you will get your bulldog puppy.
I want to bring home a puppy several months from now. When do I need to get on the waiting list?
It’s never too early to get on the waiting list, as that only improves your chances of getting the exact English bulldog puppy you want when the timing is right. Placing a deposit at least four months before you are ready to bring your puppy home is recommended in order to maximize your chances of finding your perfect pup. If you want a puppy for a special occasion, especially a holiday, it’s recommended that you get on the waiting list at least six months in advance.
How many people are on your English bulldog puppy waiting list?
Knowing the answer to that question won’t tell you when you’ll get your puppy. If there are 10 people on the waiting list, that doesn’t mean the next 10 puppies are already reserved. Some people have very specific preferences in terms of gender or color and are willing to wait until exactly the right puppy comes along. Other families have plans and a specific date after which they will bring their puppy home. Getting on the list early gives you the best chance at getting your ideal English bulldog puppy at the time that suits you best. To get a bulldog puppy as soon as possible, being flexible with regards to preferred gender and color will improve your chances.
When will you have your next litter of English bulldog puppies?
This question is really hard to answer, and again, doesn’t actually inform you as to when you’ll get your puppy. Dogs are fertile only twice a year and the pregnancy is only 60 days long. This means that we only know four months in advance if there might be puppies. Two months in advance we know that puppies have been born, but even then we wait for them to pass some important growth hurdles and vet checks before encouraging waiting families to get their hopes up. Also, if you’re just now getting on the waiting list, you’re probably not going to get a puppy from the *next* litter. Thus, we cannot tell you at this time when you will get your puppy.
What color are your puppies?
We can’t answer this question about bulldog puppies before they are born. It’s possible to have a litter with 3 or 4 completely different looking puppies in a litter; they don’t necessarily take after their parents. You can get a sense of the range of colors we breed by looking in our Petography section, or by checking out the photos on our Facebook page or Instagram account. The only color we specifically do not breed for is all white, as all white bulldogs are more prone to skin and hearing issues.
I really want one with a patch around its left eye and two socks. Will you have that?
If it were as simple as decorating cupcakes, your wish would be granted. However, we cannot control these things. But, if you’re on the waiting list when your perfect puppy comes along, you might have a chance at him or her. If you’re not on the waiting list, there’s no chance at all, since the puppy you’re describing sounds really cute!
I have a lot of questions about English bulldogs that I would like to ask before committing.
We applaud your research and encourage you to attend one of the English Bulldog Meetups that take place in your area. Going to English bulldog meetups will enable you to see the range of colors and sizes English bulldogs come in, as well as speak with their owners, who are happy to gush about how great their dogs are as well as of the realities of caring for the breed.
Can I come see your facility and visit your puppies before committing to getting an English bulldog puppy from you?
Due to other professional obligations and the number of people who ask, we can’t accommodate this request. You will see where we live when it’s time for you to choose your puppy. Keep in mind that by placing a refundable deposit, you are not committing to getting an English bulldog puppy from us. You are only maximizing the chances of getting the English bulldog puppy you want when you want it. To do more research on Fog City Bulldogs, please check out our Yelp reviews and Facebook page to get a sense of our customers’ satisfaction and the community we have built with our puppy families.
May I come by and meet your dogs to see if I am allergic to English bulldogs?
PLEASE figure out if you or anyone in your family is allergic to dogs BEFORE bringing one home. That sounds like the perfect thing to do at the English Bulldog Meetups, where there are many dogs there for you to pet and play with. There is nothing hypoallergenic about English bulldogs. If you are allergic to other dogs, you are likely allergic to English bulldogs as well.
I’m interested in getting an English bulldog puppy from you. What are the next steps?
Yay! We are very excited to introduce you to your English bulldog puppy. The next step is to place a refundable $250 deposit via PayPal, Venmo, or check to secure your place on the waiting list. If you have specific preferences in terms of gender, color, or when you want to bring your puppy home, please let us know (via email or in the PayPal notes section). If we don’t believe we’ll have an English bulldog puppy meeting your specifications, we’ll let you know.
